Job Summary
Senior Manager, Strategy & Operations at Carvana focused on uncovering opportunities to improve operations via technology, processes, and data. You’ll build models, perform cost-benefit analyses, and provide well-researched, executive-ready recommendations; leverage AI tools to accelerate data analysis; collaborate with Product, Analytics, and Operations to design and implement plans; mentor analysis and project management staff; oversee reporting of key department data; and drive organizational change. The role requires strong business judgment, analytical rigor, cross-functional collaboration, advanced Excel skills, and a track record of delivering results in analytics, operations, startups, or strategy teams. Experience with AI tooling (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot), learning SQL and Tableau, and comfort in a fast-paced AI-enabled environment are preferred. MBA or Master’s degree is a plus. The position is full-time in Tempe, AZ, and eligible for visa sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, statistics/mathematics, analytics or related fields
- 5-7+ years of work experience in analytics, consulting, operations, startups, banking, strategy, or client-facing roles
- Demonstrated ability to use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) to enhance productivity in analysis, writing, and problem structuring
- Comfort working in a rapidly evolving AI tooling landscape with a mindset of continuous experimentation
- Self-starter and owner mentality with ability to lead first-time assignments from initial question development to rollout
- Proven ability to track, prioritize, and drive projects
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent collaboration and cross-functional mindset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and transfer knowledge
- Interest in learning SQL and Tableau and leading analytical projects
- Driven by working hard, being challenged in a fast-paced environment, and having fun while doing so
