Job Summary
Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives (Fulfillment) at Flexport leads end-to-end initiatives to design and optimize the future of Flexport’s fulfillment network. Responsibilities include architecting scalable operating models, standardizing processes and tools, building prototypes and dashboards, and driving implementation across cross-functional teams (engineering, product, operations, finance, and commercial). The role emphasizes using data to identify bottlenecks, quantify opportunities that drive cost savings, and guide long-term network design and capacity planning. The candidate should be comfortable working in ambiguity, hands-on with prototyping and automation (SQL, Python, BI platforms), and capable of translating operational pain points into product requirements while ensuring adoption of new tools and processes. Desired impact includes establishing SOPs, KPIs, and governance to enable consistent performance across sites, and leading high-impact, white-space projects related to automation and international expansion. A minimum of 7–10+ years in fulfillment/logistics/operations strategy is expected, with a strong technical skillset (SQL, BI tools, Python/R) and executive-level communication capability.
Required Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of experience in fulfillment, logistics, supply chain, or operations strategy
- SQL (expert)
- Excel/Google Sheets (advanced)
- BI tools (Looker, Tableau, PowerBI)
- Python or R for modeling and automation
- Proven record of designing and implementing scalable processes/products with measurable business impact
- Executive-level communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of experience in fulfillment, logistics, supply chain, or operations strategy
- Extremely strong technical skillset: SQL (expert), Excel/Google Sheets (advanced), BI tools (Looker, Tableau, PowerBI), and preferably Python or R for modeling and automation
- Proven track record designing and implementing scalable processes/products that delivered measurable business impact
- Strong strategic thinking with ability to connect day-to-day execution to P&L drivers and long-term vision
- Entrepreneurial mindset; thrives in ambiguity; comfortable building from scratch; action-oriented
- Executive-level communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization
- Bonus: experience with robotics, warehouse automation, or building new fulfillment products (B2B, Prep, Returns, Retail compliance)
- Willingness to lead high-impact, white-space projects and build multi-year roadmaps in partnership with senior leadership
