Job Summary
Develop and implement an enterprise-wide communications strategy aligned with organizational goals. Establish messaging frameworks, editorial standards, and communication processes while serving as the primary liaison to public relations, marketing, creative, and digital communications consultants. Lead internal communications initiatives, executive messaging, and storytelling across print and digital platforms. Oversee production of the annual report, manage external vendors, and monitor communications effectiveness to support fundraising, recruitment, and stakeholder engagement. This role reports to the Chief Advancement Officer and requires a Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field, plus 7–10 years of progressive experience in strategic communications and nonprofit environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English, or a related field
- 7–10 years of progressive communications experience
- Experience developing integrated communications strategies and executive communications
- Experience managing communications projects, agencies, or external vendors
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Strong strategic thinking and organizational planning abilities
- Experience developing executive and organizational messaging
- Excellent storytelling and content development skills
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate across departments
- Sound judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with digital communications platforms, content management systems, and communication analytics
