Job Summary
Senior Manager, Software Engineering (Herogen - Tech Foundation) leading the Herogen team on Building and scaling Delivery Hero’s autonomous software delivery agent. You will drive integration with brand environments (Slack, Open Telemetry, GitHub), expand agent capabilities, improve code quality and reliability, and manage end-to-end architecture across backend, mobile, and web. This role requires a proven senior leadership track record (5+ years) in fast-paced, high-innovation environments, strong product-partnering and stakeholder management, and hands-on experience with scalable, automated software delivery. The position operates in a hybrid model with face-to-face collaboration at the Berlin campus two days a week, plus global reach across Delivery Hero’s engineering community. You’ll contribute to scaling adoption, defining workflows, enriching agent capabilities, and ensuring high-quality software delivery at scale while enabling autonomous or semi-autonomous ticket handling, with a focus on increasing the volume of autonomously generated pull requests. Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of engineering leadership experience
- senior management experience in software engineering
- experience leading and nurturing engineering teams in fast-paced environments
- experience with autonomous or semi-autonomous software agents
- experience integrating development tools across decentralized environments
- ability to drive software quality and reliability
- strong stakeholder management and product integration skills
- experience with Open Telemetry and related tooling
- experience with building robust build environments and context-scraping capabilities
- parity for hybrid working model with on-site collaboration in Berlin
