Job Summary
Senior Manager, Software Engineering, Core Custody leads a portfolio of applications and engineering associates within Fidelity Digital Assets’ Core Custody team. You will work closely with product owners, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate vision and business requirements into prioritized backlogs and technical deliverables for cloud-based solutions. You will drive an enterprise-focused roadmap, ensure modern software development practices are followed, mentor and grow a high-performing team (including remote locations), and collaborate to deliver scalable, secure web applications with frontend and backend services, microservice architectures, and cloud deployments. The role requires strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills, with the ability to partner with stakeholders to meet customer expectations and to promote architectural standards and engineering best practices. The team operates in a hybrid model with some remote flexibility as Fidelity gradually moves toward more in-office work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- 5+ years directly managing a team of software engineers
- Experience in hiring, motivating and retaining top talent
- Experience in managing associates in remote locations
- Software engineering background in frontend and backend services development
- An understanding of microservice architecture and cloud-based deployments
- Experience in modern software development practices such as infrastructure-as-code, test automation, CI/CD and containerization
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at a given time
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver solutions that exceed customer expectations
- Promoting engineering best practices, architectural standards and consistency
- Exceptional mentoring and coaching skills, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
