Job Summary
Lead development and implementation of construction-site security plans, pre-opening procedures, and crisis response protocols for the Sphere - National Harbor project. Coordinate site access controls, contractor/vendor movement, perimeter protections, and critical asset security while partnering with construction, design, and facilities stakeholders to embed physical security requirements into project planning. Conduct risk assessments, site walks, and design reviews to identify exposure points and recommend scalable mitigation strategies. Establish relationships with local law enforcement and public safety agencies to support incident response, executive site visits, and transition-to-operations readiness. Manage reporting on construction incidents and track security trends to inform future operating procedures.
Required Qualifications
- 7-10 plus years of direct experience in corporate security, construction-site security, infrastructure security, security operations, investigations, law enforcement, military, or large-scale venue/project security
- preferably supporting complex development, entertainment, sports, public assembly, or critical infrastructure environments
- Demonstrated experience supporting security planning for construction, renovation, capital projects, site development, or pre-opening environments
- Strong working knowledge of local law enforcement operations, public safety coordination, emergency response protocols, jurisdictional expectations, and local agency engagement
- Must have experience recruiting, developing, and managing security leaders, supervisors, officers, contractors, or third-party security providers
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization as well as externally with contractors, suppliers, consultants, law enforcement, emergency responders, public safety agencies, and project partners
- Leadership skills to provide direction to construction-phase security personnel, contract security teams, vendors, and future Sphere - National Harbor venue security operations personnel
- Must have the ability to anticipate, influence, and assist Threat Management & Security and key company stakeholders to assess, address, and rapidly adjust to changing construction conditions, site risks, infrastructure needs, public safety considerations, and project delivery requirements
- Travel will be required up to 15% of the time in support of Sphere - National Harbor and other MSG business needs
- Role will require regular physical presence on or around an active construction/development site
- Role may require use of appropriate personal protective equipment when accessing active construction or development areas
- Role will require active engagement with local law enforcement, fire/life safety, emergency management, and public safety partners
- Role may include Executive Protection planning elements related to VIP, executive, partner, or high-profile stakeholder movements
- May be required to work evenings/weekends/holidays as appropriate based on project schedule, construction milestones, site activity, commissioning needs, public safety coordination, and operational readiness requirements
Desired Qualifications
- The desired candidate will have experience supporting complex construction, infrastructure, or large-scale venue development environments
- with a strong understanding of physical security, security technology, site access control, perimeter protection, contractor coordination, incident response, investigations, scalable security operating models, and public safety coordination
- The candidate should also have strong working knowledge of local law enforcement capabilities, jurisdictional expectations, emergency response protocols, and public safety considerations
- Knowledge of Software House CCure, Genetec, NEC EVA, SQL Server, Oracle applications, construction access control platforms, CCTV systems, visitor/vendor management tools, and security command or monitoring platforms preferred
- Demonstrated ability to interpret site plans, construction phasing, access routes, security drawings, physical security layouts, and operating requirements and translate them into practical security procedures
- Demonstrated ability to develop, analyze, summarize, and formulate reports, briefings, risk assessments, incident trends, and readiness updates for project and executive stakeholders
- Ability to work in a high-pressure construction and development environment, solving critical issues with business, safety, schedule, budget, and operational impact
