Job Summary
Senior Manager, Scientific Communications at PMI with responsibility for owning the external scientific expression – including narrative frameworks, templates, tone, and materials (speeches, talk tracks, slide decks, speaker briefs) – to ensure a unified, credible external voice aligned with science. Will translate approved positions into audience-specific message houses and platform-tailored stories; develop and maintain external-facing templates and standards; oversee engagement materials through agencies and extended teams; manage asset library and production pipeline; tailor communications for platforms and audiences across markets; provide governance and quality control of content; maintain consistency, version management, and strategy alignment across markets.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience in scientific, medical, or highly technical communications
- Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a Scientific discipline (e.g. Life Sciences, Biology, Chemistry) or equivalent
- Postgraduate qualification (e.g. MSc, PhD, MBA, or Master’s in Communications) is advantageous
- Experience developing strategic messaging frameworks (e.g. message houses, narrative structures) and ensuring consistent application across channels/markets
- Experience working with agencies or external partners while maintaining ownership of quality, consistency, and strategic alignment
- Experience in executive communications (speeches, presentations, briefing materials) for senior leaders
- Ability to govern communication standards (tone, voice, templates) across global or multi-market organizations
- Experience working in global/matrix environments and influencing stakeholders across functions and regions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to advise/influence at leadership level
- Experience in governance frameworks balancing scientific accuracy with communication clarity
