Senior Manager, Scientific Communications

Job Summary
Develop and execute Veradermics' integrated publication strategy, creating timelines and identifying opportunities for manuscripts, congress abstracts, and commentaries. Serve as the scientific writing expert, translating complex clinical data into high-quality communications for journals, slide presentations, and educational materials. Manage manuscript development, lead journal submissions, coordinate author reviews, and respond to peer reviewer comments while ensuring compliance with GPP and ICMJE guidelines. Draft evidence-based Standard Response Letters, FAQs, and core medical information resources in collaboration with Regulatory and Pharmacovigilance teams. Lead development of congress materials and support Medical Affairs activities before, during, and after scientific meetings. Partner cross-functionally with Clinical Development, Biostatistics, and Commercial teams to manage external vendors and align communications with strategic priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline
- 5+ years of experience in Scientific Communications, Publications, Medical Affairs, Medical Information, or Medical Writing within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
- Demonstrated experience authoring peer-reviewed manuscripts, scientific congress materials, and other scientific communications
- Experience developing publication strategies and managing publication plans, including manuscript submission and peer review processes
- Exceptional scientific writing and editing skills, with the ability to critically evaluate scientific literature and communicate complex scientific data effectively
- Strong understanding of clinical trial methodology, statistics, and interpretation of clinical data, ideally supporting products in clinical development
- Knowledge of publication best practices and guidelines, including GPP and ICMJE
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple complex projects and deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with experience partnering effectively across cross-functional teams

- Experience in a small biotech environment
- Experience developing Medical Information scientific content (e.g., Standard Response Letters or scientific response documents)
- Dermatology experience
- Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools to improve scientific writing efficiency while maintaining scientific integrity
