HybridNew Gloucester, Maine, United States

Full TimeSenior LevelSmall

Job Summary

Own retention strategy and results across email, SMS, direct mail, and lifecycle for DTC ecommerce and financial services clients. Set expectations, run strategic reviews, and build roadmaps while reviewing creative, running approvals, and executing QA passes in Klaviyo or HubSpot. Lead and grow the retention team by establishing quality standards and processes, while defining MarTech direction on platform selection and integrations. Identify expansion plays like SMS programs or direct mail tests, scope them, and sell them alongside account leadership. Report to the VP of Growth in a hybrid role based in Maine, developing teammates and communicating proactively on performance trends.

Required Qualifications

  • Deep retention and lifecycle experience
  • 6+ years building and running email, SMS, and lifecycle programs at an agency or somewhere that required you to carry a broad portfolio fast
  • Bilingual across verticals
  • Klaviyo fluency on the DTC side
  • HubSpot workflow experience on the B2B and financial services side
  • Still a builder
  • Can build a flow, run a segment, and do a send-day QA pass, fast and clean
  • Love of the craft
  • Strong opinions about subject lines, hierarchy, segmentation logic, and flow structure
  • Can articulate why something works and why it doesn't
  • Real client presence
  • Can own a strategic review and build a campaign in the same week
  • Clients trust you because you know the work
  • Agency pace
  • A dozen brands in a week doesn't rattle you
  • Proven as a developer of people
  • Have managed or mentored before
  • Found it rewarding
  • Will be developing a strong teammate from day one
  • New England-based
  • This is a hybrid role with regular in-office days
  • Maine-based applicants are preferred

Desired Qualifications

  • You're a player-coach
  • Client results and team development are both yours to own
  • Communicate before you're asked
  • If results are sliding, the client hears it from you first
  • You have opinions about email: what works, what's lazy, what a brand is leaving on the table
  • You share them
  • Work closely with paid media, creative, account, and dev teams
  • Know retention programs don't succeed in isolation
  • Think in systems
  • Build programs that hold up long after you move on to the next client challenge
  • Take the work seriously, not yourself
