Senior Manager Retail Space Planning and Analytics

Job Summary
Lead the category reset process, seasonal transitions, and new item launches including creation of calendar. Provide leadership and direction to the space planning team while developing insights that influence category strategy, assortment decisions, and capital investments. Establish and monitor key performance indicators for space productivity and merchandising execution. Advise leadership on space allocation strategies, lead planogram processes, and analyze the effectiveness of assortment and placement initiatives. Partner with Store Development and Merchandising to support new store openings, remodels, and refreshes. Build organizational capabilities, tools, and processes that improve space planning effectiveness across the co-op. Translate data into clear, actionable insights for the merchandising team and observe process improvements to share with leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Supply Chain, Business or a related field
- 5-10 years in retail, CPG, space planning, or merchandising analytics
- Hands-on experience with space planning software
- Category or store-level data
- 3-5 years' experience in people and team leadership
- Proven experience developing strategies, establishing KPIs and systems, and storytelling with data
- Exceptionally strong analytical skills (Excel, BI tools)
- Experience with space planning software (e.g., Blue Yonder/JDA, Spaceman)
- Ability to connect data to merchandising decisions
- Strong attention to detail + execution discipline
- Ability to influence without authority
- Clear communicator of insights (not just data)
- Comfortable operating between corporate strategy and store reality
- Ability to thrive in a matrixed organization while maintaining an optimistic, solution-oriented, and customer-centric mindset
- Self-starter who enjoys independent work and ownership over their programs
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills remotely and in person
- Comfortable with a hybrid work schedule between in-office, in-stores, and work from home
- Willing to learn and work in platforms like Retalix HQ, Wrike, and others
- Ability to make decisions based on imperfect information
- Develop rapport with staff at all levels of the co-op
