Job Summary
Senior Manager, Research & Development leads a multidisciplinary team delivering applied research initiatives in water and wastewater; translates business needs into actionable priorities, oversees design and execution of research programs with emphasis on regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, system reliability, and environmental stewardship; responsible for stakeholder engagement across operations, engineering, compliance, and external organizations, guiding proposals, technical reports, and publications, and driving innovation through evaluation of new technologies; requires broad laboratory/science expertise, strong leadership, strategic thinking, and exceptional communication to translate complex concepts into actionable insights for internal leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field
- 12+ years of full-time research experience in the appropriate field of specialization, relevant in the water industry or laboratory
- Experience with external partnerships, grant-funded research, or industry collaboration preferred
- Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s or PhD) in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline preferred
