Job Summary
Senior Manager, Purchasing leads the MRO purchasing function across North America and globally, developing and deploying sourcing strategies for MRO spend, negotiating complex supplier agreements, conducting cost analysis, issuing RFPs/RFQs, and maximizing total value of ownership. Responsibilities include managing supplier performance through KPIs/scorecards, ensuring governance and compliance with policies and sustainability requirements, building strong supplier and internal relationships, leading continuous improvement initiatives (kaizen), overseeing HR activities within the purchasing team, and supporting strategic cross-functional collaboration to drive results. The role requires strategic thinking, risk management, and proven negotiation and leadership capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field
- 10+ years of related experience
- 3+ years of people leadership experience
- Strategic mindset and risk management
- Knowledge of purchasing procedures and terms and supply chain management
- Ability to identify and implement system/process improvements
- Excellent problem solving and cross-functional collaboration
- Proven ability to prepare and lead difficult negotiations and the ability to influence others
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and good presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- People management direct and indirect reports
- Customer service skills
