Job Summary
Senior Manager, Pre-Assurance at Optus helps strengthen risk and control environments and supports Enforceable Undertaking obligations with the ACCC. Core responsibilities include establishing governance terms, ownership of forum governance (cadences, agendas, minute accuracy, follow-through), partnering with risk leads to review control efficiency and co-design auditable controls, contributing to preventative/detective control strategies, supporting audit readiness, and aligning with Line 1 and Line 2–based frameworks. The role requires coordinating senior-level risk or compliance forums, driving risk maturity, and providing management reporting on emerging and residual risks. The position emphasizes hands-on advisory work, governance artefacts, and collaboration across risk and business teams. The role offers flexible working arrangements (three days in the office, two days remote) within a regulated, high-visibility environment.
Required Qualifications
- 8 years+ experience in risk, assurance, or control roles within regulated environments
- Proven experience coordinating senior-level risk or compliance forums
- Strong understanding of Line 1 and Line 2 accountabilities within enterprise risk management
- Proven expertise in control design, KRI development, and operational risk reporting
- Experience within highly regulated sectors such as telecommunications, banking, financial services, or insurance
- Practical knowledge of regulatory enforcement programs and governance structures
