Job Summary
Lead outreach to academic, think tank, and private sector partners while conceiving and executing initiatives to showcase U.S. public diplomacy through events, convenings, and editorial partnerships. Design and manage internal programs such as global Public Affairs Officer workshops, coordinating speaker logistics, publicity, and vendor management. Manage the roster of public diplomacy practitioners, pitch them for external engagements, and ensure diverse representation in Departmental outreach. Support the Under Secretary by preparing remarks, talking points, and scenario documents for internal and external engagements. Liaise with regional and functional offices to coordinate major policy and communications initiatives while monitoring emerging debates in foreign policy and national security.
Required Qualifications
- An undergraduate or graduate level education in a social science discipline or related field (e.g., communications, organizational leadership, psychology, etc.)
- At least 5 years of experience designing high-profile events and convenings for major government, foundation, and/or non-profit partners
- Proficiency in the use of digital convening and event platforms
- High level of proficiency in written and oral communications
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills
