Senior Manager of Software Engineering

Job Summary
Lead a team of entry-level to senior software engineers to deliver secure, scalable technology products. Oversee budget, resource decisions, and execution of processes; drive enterprise microservices adoption; contribute to platform development across internal web apps, middleware, batch jobs, and data services; mentor and coach engineers; partner with leadership to improve operational efficiencies and functionality; emphasize diversity and inclusion while delivering technology solutions in a cloud-driven environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field plus 7 years of experience in software engineering/related roles
- Hands-on development experience in Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring-boot, JMS
- Experience with REST API services, JSON, Swagger
- Experience with Terraform to provision AWS cloud services
- Experience leading teams of technologists
- Cloud platforms including Pivotal Cloud Foundry; NoSQL databases; Cassandra; Kafka; JavaScript; React
- Monitor production processes and troubleshoot issues
- Strong understanding of OO programming and modern technology trends
- Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
- Preferred: code-level experience and strong soft skills such as presenting, negotiating, mentorship, and stakeholder management
