Job Summary
Develop and implement research and evaluation plans for KID Museum's student, teacher, and family programs, including in-person and virtual initiatives. Create aligned data collection protocols and tools, then collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to inform program design and improvement. Manage data systems, dashboards, and organizational standards while overseeing interns and external contracts. Collaborate with program, marketing, and development teams to integrate findings and present results to stakeholders, funders, and leadership. Stay current on best practices in learning sciences, maker education, and STEM/STEAM innovation. This role supports the museum's growth strategy as a learning laboratory, reporting to the Chief Impact Officer.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., learning sciences, education, engineering education, psychology, social sciences)
- At least 5 years of experience conducting research and evaluation in a relevant field, such as STEM/STEAM education and/or informal learning environments
- Demonstrated expertise in research design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation
- Experience managing research and evaluation projects from conception to dissemination
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex research findings to a variety of audiences
- Strong collaboration and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels of the organization, as well as with research partners and other institutions (academic and non-academic)
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of and experience with research and evaluation methods and tools, including quantitative and qualitative methods, survey design, dashboarding, data visualization, and data analysis software
