Job Summary
Senior Manager, Network Transportation leads the design and buildout of CarParts.com's owned last-mile delivery operation across four nodes, transitioning from a carrier-dependent model. Responsibilities include defining operating models for routes and driver/vehicle requirements, building ownership infrastructure (drivers, vehicle procurement, last-mile tech), developing a phased transition plan with milestones and cost targets, establishing DOT compliance and safety programs, partnering with data science for routing and performance analytics, and managing ongoing transportation operations, carrier relationships, SOP development, and network architecture planning. The role requires 6+ years in transportation/logistics, hands-on experience with owned last-mile programs, cross-node operations, and strong analytical and communication skills. The right candidate will drive the strategic move toward an owned last-mile network, oversee carrier performance, and collaborate with finance, warehouse teams, and executives to deliver measurable improvements.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in transportation operations, network management, or supply chain logistics
- Hands-on experience building or operating an owned last mile delivery program
- Direct experience with middle mile and last mile operations
- Experience managing carrier relationships end-to-end
- Experience operating across multiple distribution or fulfillment nodes
- Demonstrated ability to build and own 3-, 6-, and 12-month operational plans
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), carrier compliance requirements, and transportation safety standards
- Strong analytical skills — comfortable building reports, interpreting transportation data, identifying trends, and driving decisions from metrics
- Proven ability to develop and implement SOPs, policies, and process improvements in a logistics or distribution environment
- Excellent communication skills
