Job Summary
Senior Manager, Mutual Fund Tax responsibilities include leading and managing client relationships for large mutual fund tax engagements, acting as the primary liaison for internal and external clients, overseeing risk and financial performance (including billing and budgets), guiding teams of tax professionals, developing tax arguments and recommendations, and participating in market activities outside the firm. The role requires building and sustaining senior-level relationships, delivering tax solutions for complex fund structures, and mentoring staff while ensuring high-quality client service and compliance. Qualifications include eight years of mutual fund tax experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting, and CPA/EA/JD/LLM (or equivalent) credentials, with demonstrated proficiency in taxation of corporations and partnerships and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum eight years of recent experience in mutual fund tax
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university
- Licensed CPA, EA or JD/LLM (or other approved credential) with plan to obtain if not possessed at hire
- Prior experience in Mutual Fund and/or investment partnership
- Proficient in taxation of corporations, partnerships, and other flow-through entities including reviewing 1120 RIC and 1065 tax returns, including Schedule K-1
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams
