Job Summary
Senior Manager, Mutual Fund Tax at KPMG leads client relationships and tax engagements for large mutual fund clients, manages teams of tax professionals, develops tax arguments and recommendations, oversees engagement risk and financial performance, and participates in external market activities. The role requires eight years of mutual fund tax experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting, CPA/EA/JD/LLM or equivalent credentials, and proven ability to manage client service teams and complex tax returns (including 1120 RIC, 1065, and Schedule K-1). Strong communication skills and leadership for coaching and mentoring other tax professionals are essential. The position emphasizes relationship management, tax strategy, and cross-functional collaboration within KPMG’s Business Tax Services practice.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum eight years of recent experience in mutual fund tax
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Licensed CPA, EA or JD/LLM, or ability to obtain one of the approved designations/credentials within one year
- Prior experience in Mutual Fund and/or investment partnership
- Proficient in the taxation of corporations, partnerships, and other flow-through entities including reviewing 1120 RIC and 1065 tax returns, including Schedule K-1
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams
