Job Summary
Senior Manager, Mutual Fund Tax at KPMG drives client relationships and tax delivery for large mutual fund clients within KPMG's Business Tax Services. Responsibilities include building and managing client relationships, serving as a senior point of contact, advising on tactical tax issues, overseeing engagement risk and financial performance (billing, collections, budgets), mentoring tax professionals, contributing to external market activities, and developing tax arguments and recommendations for clients. Qualification highlights include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA/EA/JD/LLM credentials, at least eight years of mutual fund tax experience, and proficiency in taxation of corporations and partnerships, including Schedule K-1 and 1120 RIC/1065 work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university
- Licensed CPA, EA or JD/LLM, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing
- one year to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials if not possessing at hire
- Minimum eight years of recent experience in mutual fund tax
- Prior experience in Mutual Fund and/or investment partnership
- Proficient in the taxation of corporations, partnerships, and other flow-through entities including reviewing 1120 RIC and 1065 tax returns, including Schedule K-1
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams
