Job Summary

Lead the design, review, and continuous enhancement of the Bank’s Enterprise Model Risk Management documentation, governance, and standards; drive development of model performance monitoring and issue management frameworks; oversee integration of monitoring into policy documentation and refine model risk rating methodology across portfolios; manage governance activities, regulatory reporting, and governance attestations; coordinate model inventory, reporting to Senior Management and the Board, and develop automation/innovation in governance processes using tools like Power BI, SQL, Python, and VBA; design and maintain stakeholder training for governance operating model; build strong partnerships with Model Owners, Reviewers, Users, and subsidiaries; oversee usage of model inventory platforms (e.g., SAS MRM), attestation processes, and executive-level analytics; ensure internal controls related to Model Risk (RCSA, ERAF, NIRA, TPRM) are robust and well-documented; leverage automation to improve efficiency and data integrity; preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of risk-management experience, proficiency with SQL/Power BI/Python/VBA/R, knowledge of model risk concepts, and fluency in Spanish; location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of related experience in risk management
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as SQL, Power BI, Excel, VBA, R, Python
  • Strong understanding of model risk management principles, including regulatory frameworks (e.g., OSFI E-23, FRB SR 11-7, PRA SS 1/23)
  • Knowledge of model validation, model development or model risk audit practices
  • Experience with databases and inventory management systems (IBM OpenPages/SAS MRM)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Fluency in Spanish is a significant asset
