Job Summary
Senior Manager, Materials leads the Plastics CoE materials management function within GE Appliances, overseeing a team across multiple shifts and driving material flow, inventory strategies, and continuous-improvement programs using Lean, automation, and AI tools. Responsible for 95% inventory accuracy, inventory turns, ABC classifications and safety stock, collaborating with capacity planning, ERP/Lean teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to meet lead time and on-time delivery (OTD) requirements. Focus areas include reducing inventory, optimizing working capital, and deploying strategic inventory plans while guiding reporting, documentation, and best-practice sharing. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and data-driven problem-solving required; role emphasizes sustainability initiatives and a flexible work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering or related field
- 7 years of materials management in high-volume manufacturing
- 10 years in manufacturing with leadership
- experience with MRP/ERP/IQMS systems
- Lean manufacturing principles
- APICS certification (preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and virtual teams
- Experience with inventory management, EOQ, safety stock, ABC classifications
- Ability to drive continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives
