Job Summary
Provide strategic leadership for Market Solutions Engineering and Market Research teams, directing vendor engagements, prototype development, and long-term market solution planning. Lead cross-functional collaboration from design through deployment, manage 24x7 on-call production support, and oversee technical development of mathematical models for energy and capacity markets. Define and validate future market products using simulations and historical data analysis while presenting technical strategies to senior management and external stakeholders. This role balances day-ahead and real-time market operations enhancements with NYISO's long-term strategic planning priorities. You will supervise technical staff, manage external research engagements with universities and agencies, and represent NYISO on industry advisory boards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Research, or another related technical field
- Knowledge of Power Systems Engineering and Economics
- A Master's degree
- Equivalent combination of education and experience to a Master's degree
- Minimum of ten years of electrical engineering and/or software development experience
- Technology leadership or supervisory experience in research, technology analysis, market systems, electric utilities, interconnected public service, or energy markets
- Knowledge of power system operations
