Job Summary
Senior Engineering Manager - Trust Intelligence Platform at Twilio, leading ML/Data Engineering teams to build trusted, real-time risk-prediction pipelines and scalable ML solutions. Partner with Product/Architects to translate needs into long-term roadmaps; oversee end-to-end execution, data pipelines (batch and real-time), and integration with fraud/compliance tools. Drive agile practices, CI/CD, automated testing, and on-call processes; own service reliability in a cloud environment; collaborate across product teams to incorporate anti-fraud measures and publish data to fraud-fighting tools. Strong leadership, strategic planning, and excellent communication are essential; proficiency in Python with experience in PyTorch/TensorFlow/Keras, Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Presto, DynamoDB, and AWS (SageMaker, EKS, ECS). Desirable: fraud/compliance domain knowledge, telecommunications familiarity, and familiarity with large language models.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10–14+ years of total experience in machine learning/data engineering
- 5+ years of experience leading and managing engineering teams
- Proven track record of shipping and maintaining ML models in a fast-paced, production environment
- Experience developing highly-available full stack applications and distributed systems
- Stellar communication, organization and management skills with proven track record in an agile environment
- Ability to explain your technical and business decisions succinctly as well as in detail
- Languages: Expert proficiency in Python; familiarity with Java or Scala is a plus
- ML Frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras
- Data Tools: Kafka, Apache Spark, Hadoop, Presto, and DynamoDB
- Cloud Platforms: AWS (SageMaker, EKS, or ECS)
- Observability: Datadog and Grafana
