Job Summary
Senior Manager, Machine Learning on Twilio’s Conversation Memory team. This role is remote-based in India and combines hands-on ML engineering with strategic leadership: contribute technical expertise, mentor the team, define and drive the ML product roadmap, establish efficient engineering setups, monitor the ML landscape, recruit and develop ML engineers, and track KPIs to demonstrate impact to leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in Applied ML or AI
- 3+ years of leading a team of Machine Learning Engineers or data scientists
- Proven experience defining and executing a multi-year technical vision and strategy for a large-scale ML platform or product
- Deep expertise in design, architecture, and deployment of production-grade ML/AI systems including LLM orchestration, embeddings, and vector stores
- Extensive experience with ML Ops and LLM Ops patterns with evaluation metrics for non-deterministic AI features at scale
- Strong background in cloud-based services (AWS, GCP, or Azure) with high-volume data stores
- Experience recruiting, hiring, and scaling ML or engineering teams
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to mentor engineers and drive cross-team results
