Job Summary
Lead IT operations for ~800 Zapiens by shifting from reactive support to an AI-first, proactive model covering onboarding, offboarding, and employee experience. Architect enterprise-grade identity, endpoints, and zero-trust access using Okta and Jamf, partnering with Security to own end-to-end access controls. Govern the 200+ tool portfolio with ROI accountability and vendor standards, while leading major incident response and root-cause prevention. Translate company direction into an IT roadmap that prepares infrastructure for enterprise scale and feeds gaps to Product. Influence policy across People Ops, Finance, Legal, and Engineering to enforce access and security standards, building a tiered, globally distributed team of ~6. Serve as the internal reference for enterprise deals, demonstrating how Zapier handles access and governance at scale.
Required Qualifications
- Proven IT leadership at scale
- 8+ years in IT/Systems Engineering
- 3+ years managing engineers
- Experience scaling IT in a high-growth, fully remote company
- Building teams with real standards and accountability
- Developing people deliberately
- Building depth rather than dependency across timezones
- Built, championed, and implemented AI or automation into IT or security operations
- Treating AI and automation as core infrastructure
- Curiosity about new products, AI, and automation
- Deep hands-on Okta (SSO, SCIM, OIDC, SAML, MFA, RBAC/ABAC, lifecycle automation)
- Deep hands-on Jamf (device trust, EDR)
- SaaS governance at scale
- Partnered with Security on zero trust, enterprise access controls, and compliance
- Understanding of SOC 2 Type 2
- Understanding of ISO 27001
- Ability to own the controls and evidence that support compliance
- Turning business direction into a clear IT strategy
