Senior Manager Insurance Finance

Job Summary

Lead the Club's insurance financial operations by managing a high-performing accounting team, overseeing daily general ledger entries, and ensuring GAAP compliance. Generate and analyze monthly financial statements, track accruals, and support year-end closing while collaborating with FP&A to optimize budgeting and forecasting. Resolve accounting discrepancies, identify variance root causes, and propose actionable mitigation steps to senior management. Foster team development through performance evaluations, coaching, and knowledge-sharing on complex procedures. Maintain vendor relationships and implement process improvements to enhance system efficiency and reduce fraud risks.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in accounting
  • CPA
  • 7+ years of accounting experience
  • 5+ years of experience preparing financial statements
  • 4+ years of accounting experience supporting an insurance business
  • 3+ years of experience developing and implementing internal procedures and controls
  • 1-3 years of direct leadership
  • Advanced familiarity with the Microsoft Office platform of products, particularly Excel
  • Excellent mathematical skills, analytical skills and reasoning ability
  • Ability to learn new financial systems and make recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures
  • Ability to develop various models to analyze the cost / benefit of entering into a new business venture
  • Demonstrated customer service attitude
  • Drive and persistence to handle technical accounting issues in a fast-paced/deadline-oriented environment
