Job Summary
Lead a high-performing procurement team responsible for the end-to-end strategic sourcing of Rivian's Charging and Adventure Products. Oversee the RFI/RFQ/RFP process, develop global sourcing strategies for vehicle energy management and distribution systems, and drive complex negotiations for high-value contracts and raw material index tooling. Own the powertrain vehicle budget in collaboration with Finance to achieve aggressive cost-reduction initiatives and margin targets. Partner with Engineering, Program Management, and Supplier Quality to ensure design-for-manufacturability and meet vehicle build milestones. This role reports to the Director of Global Supply Management, Propulsion, Thermal, Charging and Adventure Products, with an average travel requirement of 20-40%.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field)
- 10+ years of purchasing, procurement, or commodity management experience within the automotive powertrain, electrical, or heavy industrial electrical manufacturing industry
- 3+ years of dedicated experience directly managing and leading a team of purchasing professionals in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of High Voltage electronics
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for procurement of components for a charging network
- Understanding of vehicle power electronics and inverters
- Proven track record of leading high-stakes commercial negotiations for high-value components
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to translate high-level corporate goals into actionable commodity strategies for the team
- Strong analytical, data-driven problem-solving skills for complex quote leveling and financial forecasting
- Ability to thrive as a leader in a rapidly evolving environment
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed based on business needs, expected to average between 20-40%
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree (MBA or MS)
- Experience within a Charging Network
- Commercial knowledge of brand partnerships and experience bringing exciting brand collaborations to market
- Experience working directly with Tier 1 automotive powertrain suppliers or electric vehicle (EV) propulsion technology
