Job Summary
Lead planning and execution of accommodation for the IOC and IPC during the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games by developing venue operating plans, policies, and procedures for Olympic and Paralympic Family Hotels. Manage the holistic operational planning for the hotel program, support contract negotiations with hotel partners, and oversee relationships to ensure service excellence and compliance with LA28 standards. Act as the primary liaison between LA28 and IOC/IPC, serving as the venue owner and manager for designated hotels while guiding staff and volunteers through training and policy adaptation. Coordinate with functional areas including Accommodation, Transportation, and Security to deliver integrated solutions, manage budgets for hotel operations, and provide regular progress reports and risk assessments to leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years' work experience in an international, large event or multi-sport Games environment or related field
- 5+ years direct people management experience, including oversight of full-time staff, contractors, or large volunteer teams (e.g., 10+ individuals)
- Experience leading cross-functional teams or multi-department initiatives
- Proven delivery of large-scale projects or events, including planning through execution phases
- Experience working with external stakeholders, such as government agencies, sponsors, or international partners
- A diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a related field
- Oral and written fluency in English
- Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office
- The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment
- Employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment
- Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods
- Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games
Desired Qualifications
- hotel experience is preferred
- Work experience in an international, large event or multi-sport Games environment is a plus
- Experience training teams is preferred
- Experience reviewing and negotiating contracts is preferred
- Experience working in multi-lingual settings is a plus
- Knowledge of other languages is a plus
