Senior Manager, Flight Control Systems US

Job Summary
Manage and develop the local flight control systems engineering team, conducting performance reviews and establishing development plans. Execute project plans and shape departmental business and technical strategies while collaborating with the Head of Flight Control Systems Technical Area. Account for FAA certification activities by working closely with FAA representatives and DERs, and track earned value management status across geographies. Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and tools in collaboration with the Head of the FCS Technical Area. Conduct data analysis, produce reports, and collaborate with the Flight Test Department to ensure test aircraft readiness. This role serves as the technical authority for the U.S. organization, requiring extensive expertise in fly-by-wire architectures, flight dynamics, and safety-critical system certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics
- Minimum of 10 years experience with aircraft flight controls and/or flight dynamics
- Expert knowledge of aircraft stability and control, flight dynamics, and flight control law development
- Demonstrated experience with aircraft system integration, laboratory integration, ground testing, and flight testing
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in the investigation and resolution of complex aircraft technical issues
- Recognized subject matter expert in aircraft flight control systems and fly-by-wire technology
- Experience with system safety assessment and development assurance for safety-critical airborne systems
- Understanding of ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, DO-254, and applicable FAA certification regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to represent the company before regulatory authorities, customers, and executive leadership
- Less than 20% domestic and international travel
