Job Summary
Manage the grounds maintenance fleet, including records for oil, fuel, and filter changes, while overseeing irrigation diagnostics and repairs for heads, valves, and solenoids. Prepare and maintain fields per NFL specifications through soil testing, mowing, fertilization, and pesticide application, while monitoring environmental stress factors for turf diseases. Maintain artificial practice surfaces and observe corrective actions for MetLife Stadium, ensuring all areas meet strict regulations. Stand in as Director during absences and perform general landscape maintenance for beautification and special events. Work nights, weekends, and holidays with a background check conducted prior to start.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Turfgrass Science or related field
- Seven or more years of athletic field, golf or grounds maintenance experience
- Experience managing sand-based root zones and cool season turf
- Experience managing staff
- Ability to obtain a New Jersey Pesticide License within 1 year of employment
- Ability to obtain a New Jersey Fertilizer Applicators License within 3 months of employment
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, run, twist climb and lift 75lbs for extended amounts of time
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Turfgrass, Horticulture or related field
- Experience working in collegiate or professional football
- Knowledgeable with Excel, Word, Power Point, Paylocity
