Senior Manager - Engineering

Senior Manager, Engineering responsible for leading a high-performance engineering organization focused on one of Confluent's critical services. Drive technical strategy to scale metrics infrastructure and data streaming platforms, guide API evolution for new datasets and query capabilities, and ensure operational excellence with sub-second queries and 99.99%+ availability. Lead cross-team collaboration across Telemetry, Cloud Infrastructure, and Product, while growing and mentoring a team, hiring, performance management, and maintaining a high bar for talent. Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and strong security and reliability across distributed systems. Deep experience with distributed systems design and cloud environments (Kafka or similar streaming platforms; AWS/GCP/Azure) and a hands-on engineering mindset to ship features and meet aggressive deadlines. Ready to build what's next and lead across time zones and diverse perspectives.
