Job Summary
Collaborate with engineering, product, and business leaders to align technical execution with goals while driving best practices in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD pipelines. Lead and manage a team of software engineers, overseeing hiring, training, performance evaluations, and mentorship to foster a culture of technical excellence. Ensure timely delivery of scalable, secure applications by participating in architecture design, troubleshooting issues, and creating lifecycle documentation. Monitor KPIs monthly and stay current with emerging technologies, including generative AI tools, to integrate innovations into the IT infrastructure. This remote role prefers East Coast candidates and requires 7+ years in software development with 3+ years in leadership and COBOL experience.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in software development
- at least 3 years in a human capital leadership role
- 3+ years of experience working with COBOL
- Strong background in building and maintaining SaaS applications at scale
- Hands-on experience with Azure
- experience with modern development practices
- Familiarity with version control systems
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to balance technical leadership with business priorities and team dynamics
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Desired Qualifications
- preference given to East Coast candidates
- Familiarity with version control systems, Git preferred
- Experience with Agile methodologies, KanBan preferred
- Experience using generative AI tools such as Claude, Copilot, or ChatGPT to improve productivity and deliver high-quality outcomes
