Job Summary

Develop and execute the company's North American sales tax incentive strategy, including identification, evaluation, prioritization, and monetization of opportunities to support expansion objectives. Partner with Market Strategy, New Site Development, and Site Selection teams to model state and local tax liabilities and total project economics during due diligence for prospective data center developments. Lead the negotiation, implementation, and administration of sales and use tax incentives and economic development agreements to maximize project value while ensuring long-term compliance. Prepare, review, and submit annual compliance certifications, incentive performance reports, and refund claims; support governmental reviews, audits, and defense efforts by coordinating responses and managing external consultants. Collaborate with Legal, Construction, Procurement, and Finance teams to structure contracts and optimize available incentives while maintaining statutory compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a related field
  • Master of Taxation
  • CPA and/or CMI/CCIP designation
  • 10+ years of experience in state and local tax, economic development incentives, credits and incentives, site selection, or related tax advisory roles
  • substantial experience negotiating and administering incentive agreements
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating and administering large-scale sales and use tax exemptions, economic development incentives, or capital investment incentive agreements associated with data centers, manufacturing facilities, technology infrastructure, renewable energy projects, or other capital-intensive developments
  • Public accounting, incentives consulting, economic development advisory or site selection consulting experience
  • Broad exposure to multistate and local jurisdictions
  • Confident and collaborative communicator
  • Proven ability to build positive and productive relationships
  • Strong analytical mind, problem-solving, and modeling skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner
  • Self-starter with the agility to operate independently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrates executive presence and effective communication skills
  • Professional-growth mindset with a willingness to bring forth ideas that can benefit Vantage
  • Travel required is expected to be up to 5% but may increase over time as the business evolves
