Job Summary
Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting role leading a team within Anthropic’s Corporate Accounting Operations. Own portfolio of accounts through month-end and quarter-end close, develop and document policies and SOPs, design a controls framework, and drive process automation (including Claude) in a high-growth environment. Responsibilities include close operations, SOX control preparation, technical accounting policy oversight, external audit coordination, and cross-functional collaboration. Requires active CPA license, ~10 years of progressive accounting experience (public company exposure + startup/high-growth), and Big 4 audit foundation. Compensation range: $230,000–$300,000 USD annually. Hybrid policy: in-office at least 25% of the time in San Francisco, CA. Visa sponsorship available.
Required Qualifications
- Active CPA licence
- Big 4 audit foundation
- Has managed or meaningfully coached junior accountants
- Experience designing and operating controls in a SOX environment
- Hands-on ownership of close: reconciliations, JEs, variance analysis
- Depth across ASC 842, ASC 718, ASC 340-40, payroll, fixed assets/capitalisation, cash & investments, debt, intangibles, prepaids, accruals
- Owns policies and SOPs end-to-end: writes them, maintains them
