Job Summary
Oversee the development and maintenance of Business Continuity Management policies, standards, and guidelines while evolving Manulife's risk standards and controls. Lead stakeholder management across segments and functions to socialize issues, drive change, and implement solutions for the Business Continuity program. Provide second-line oversight and challenge on business continuity activities, including BIA/BCP reporting, risk posture assessments, and the design of management systems. Develop dashboards to identify operational risk exposures and ensure timely escalation to governance committees. Support ad hoc projects and deliver education and training to business, operations, and technology resources. This role requires 8+ years of experience in financial services risk management and operates in a hybrid environment in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Business Continuity, operational resilience, or risk management in financial services
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
- Proven track record of developing and implementing resilience strategies
- Expert knowledge of risk management principles, best practices, and tools
- Strong understanding of financial services regulations and interfacing with internal partners
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the integrity and confidence to liaise with executives and senior management
- Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking capabilities
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing projects
- Ability to influence and deliver amidst ambiguity
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills; comfortable addressing large and small audiences
- Proven leadership experience and demonstrated ability to foster a high-performing culture
- Solid experience in designing, implementing, and validating the effectiveness of operational controls
