Job Summary
Direct, coordinate, and exercise technical authority for construction of DC Water engineering projects within assigned responsibility. Manage staff and consultants to ensure technical adequacy of engineering, adhere to schedules, and meet long-term objectives. Review project proposals for time frames, funding, staffing, compliance, and constructability. Provide expert guidance on water, sewer, and wastewater treatment plant systems design and construction. Evaluate and approve design and construction changes and specifications. Assist in developing the Capital Improvements Program and prepare preliminary budget justifications. Perform daily planning, administration, and management of the area of responsibility, including supervision and training of personnel. Interact with officials, government entities, and contractors. Requires a District of Columbia licensed PE and ten years of progressive experience in planning, design, and construction activities.
Required Qualifications
- Ten (10) years of progressive experience in planning, design and construction activities
- Five (5) years of supervisory experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university
