Job Summary
Develop and execute comprehensive, proactive community engagement strategies including stakeholder mapping, research, and sentiment analysis. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as local governments, non-profits, and industry peers to effect positive change. Support project development activities by facilitating community meetings, acting as the central contact for site tours, and communicating strategy through various channels. Implement and manage mechanisms for community feedback throughout project development, construction, and operation. This role requires a Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience in project development or community engagement, with a proven track record in Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad. The position is based in the Mumbai office, reporting to the Associate Vice President of Social Impact and Community.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Sciences, Business, Environmental Studies, Real Estate, Engineering, Public Policy)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project development, project management, community engagement corporate social responsibility, sustainability or a related field
- Proven track record of supporting the development of major infrastructure projects including approvals, multi-stakeholder dynamics and direct community engagement in Mumbai, Chennai and/or Hyderabad
- Experience in developing materials to be used to educate audiences about a specific projects, in both Word and Powerpoint, and delivering such materials in formal and informal forums (i.e. public events, private stakeholder meetings, site visits)
- Experience in engaging and fostering alignment with communities in a wide range of geographies, including throughout both urban and regional areas in Australia
- Strong commercial orientation with discerning interpersonal skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Passionate about sustainability and social impact
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and navigate through ambiguity
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in the energy, real estate or data centre industry is a plus.
