Job Summary
Senior Manager Cloud Data Platform leading platform ownership, reliability, scalability, and efficiency for the data platform built on GCP. Own architecture and platform administration of the data stack (BigQuery, DBT, Composer, Looker) while mentoring a team of data platform engineers. Drive cost optimization, security, data governance alignment, and observability; promote best practices in infrastructure as code (Terraform); ensure high availability and disaster recovery; collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and governance teams to meet platform needs; advocate for standardized, scalable, and maintainable data tooling across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- 6 to 10 years of experience in data platform, data engineering, or cloud infrastructure roles
- 2+ years of experience managing or mentoring engineers
- Strong experience with GCP, especially BigQuery and IAM
- Solid understanding of modern data stack tools such as DBT and Airflow
- Experience managing infrastructure through Terraform or similar tools
- Good understanding of data platform reliability, scalability, and cost optimization
- Experience implementing monitoring, alerting, and incident management processes
- Ability to balance technical depth with team leadership and stakeholder collaboration
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
