Job Summary
Manage complex client engagements to ensure timely, on-budget completion while upholding high-quality standards. Oversee files by setting project budgets, planning activities, monitoring staff progress, and reviewing projects for accuracy. Solve dynamic accounting and tax-related questions and challenges. Mentor and manage your team by guiding staff on engagement priorities and acting as the day-to-day client relationship manager. Review financial statements and corresponding tax returns for select clients. Prepare submissions for the CRA. Support the marketing of the organization to existing and potential clients as needed. This client-facing leadership role involves implementing accounting, tax, and business planning strategies for privately-owned clients within a diverse, collaborative environment.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree
- CPA designation
- 6+ years of public practice experience
- 3+ years of team management experience
- Thorough understanding of ASPE, ASNPO, generally accepted auditing standards, and common audit procedures and techniques
- Ability to research and analyze financial statement and audit-related issues
- Capacity to provide clear and concise accounting insights to clients, including on complex issues
- Familiarity with the challenges faced by small to medium-sized businesses
- Independent, highly motivated, and a self-starter
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple clients simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Effective relationship-builder who fosters positive connections with clients and team members
- One Team mindset and openness to collaboration and bringing positive energy to the team
