Job Summary

Senior Manager, Advocacy Communications to develop and deliver advocacy messaging and campaigns across global and regional audiences. Translate policy and technical inputs into accessible, persuasive narratives; maintain consistency of advocacy positions across regions, languages, and cultures; support media engagement strategies and prepare spokespeople for international and regional media. Build and maintain tools such as message frameworks, campaign toolkits, and rapid-response materials to ensure the organization can respond quickly and credibly to policy developments. Requires 7–10 years of experience in advocacy/strategic communications across multiple countries or regions, with demonstrated ability to engage policymakers, regulators, civil society, think tanks, media, and academia. International or regional experience is highly desirable. The role operates with a focus on narrative, messaging, campaigns, and media engagement within a global, cross-border policy context, with a preference for candidates based in Europe, Africa, or Asia-Pacific. The position is remote-friendly with a global mission to communicate the Internet Society’s positions clearly and credibly while supporting the 2030 Strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of experience in advocacy communications, strategic communications, or campaign communications, including work across multiple countries or regions
  • Proven experience communicating to advocacy audiences, including policymakers, regulators, civil society, think tanks, media, and/or academia in more than one national or regional context
  • Background in civil society, Internet governance, digital rights, technology policy, or a related public-interest field
  • Strong policy fluency: Able to understand policy positions and debates and translate them into effective communications across different legal and governance systems
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading media engagement, including press materials, messaging, and spokesperson preparation, ideally with international or regional media outlets
  • Excellent writing, editing, and narrative-building skills for diverse global audiences
  • Experience working with international, regional, or multilateral institutions, coalitions, or networks is highly desirable
