Job Summary
Provide advice and guidance to the Office of National Programs and assigned ARS research projects on per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Coordinate PFAS research team efforts with other ARS teams, collaborating universities, and across USDA agencies. Participate in the development of the PFAS Research Strategy for ARS and engage in teamwork with National Program Leaders on research planning and collaboration. As requested, participate in project reviews and meet via Zoom or Teams with scientists on existing and future project plans. Advise top administrative personnel on important research questions concerning PFAS. This advisory role supports the Agricultural Research Service's critical missions through the Experienced Worker Program, offering remote work options with a 24-hour weekly schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience in biological or microbiological sciences, environmental toxicology, and/or managing/directing scientific research programs
- PhD Degree in environmental toxicology, soil or aquatic biology, soil science, or related
- Having served as National Program Director/Leader for environmental, soil, or water natural resources
- Experience with Windows
- Experience with MS Word
- Experience with MS Excel
- Experience with MS PowerPoint
