Senior Management Accountant

Senior Management Accountant at the NSW Department of Education responsible for driving ongoing management accounting reporting to support informed decision-making, implementing the department’s budget reporting approach, partnering with stakeholders to deliver monthly forecasting across divisions, analysing divisional financial information for agency-wide insights, identifying risks and information gaps, and producing monthly reports for senior leaders (including Ministers, the Secretary and the departmental executive) on recurrent and capital spend. The role involves ensuring integrated reporting with Finance teams, providing evidence-based forecasting advice, managing competing priorities during process and system reform, governance of management accounting practices, and contributing to Aboriginal Education Policy compliance and partnership initiatives. Requires degree in accounting/finance and professional accounting association membership, strong budgeting/forecasting/reporting experience, and ability to work in a large public sector organisation with stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement mindset.
