Job Summary
Senior Major Gifts Officer to co-develop and drive a comprehensive major gifts funding strategy, securing six- to seven-figure gifts from individuals and family foundations. Responsible for qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospects and donors capable of giving at least $100K/year, managing a portfolio, and coordinating with the Director of Global Business Development and LG leadership. Will identify new funding opportunities, engage existing funders, plan donor engagement activities, and execute individualized fundraising plans. Requires 10+ years in major donor fundraising, strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, willingness to travel up to 25% (East Coast focus; potential travel to Kenya), and a collaborative, results-driven mindset. Compensation: $105,000–$120,000. Remote work option on the East Coast with preference for Washington DC.
Required Qualifications
- Major donor fundraising experience with 10+ years preferred
- demonstrated success securing 6- and 7-figure gifts from individuals and family foundations
- ability to develop and implement donor engagement strategies
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- ability to work across departments and countries
- travel up to 25% of time (East Coast focus, potential Kenya travel)
- portfolio management experience with donors and prospects
