Job Summary
Ensure compliance with all safety policies, foster a strong safety culture, and perform safety audits alongside daily training messages. Plan, layout, and execute diversified installation, maintenance, and repair operations for physical assets including pumps, pipes, vessels, motors, conveyors, and mills. Work from drawings, P&IDs, and work orders to adjust, repair, and maintain equipment while using measuring instruments to level and align machines. Perform welding using MIG, TIG, and Stick methods, and deliver effective turnover through logbook communication. Maintain a clean work environment per Good Manufacturing Practices while learning technical process operations through a progressive training program.
Required Qualifications
- 5-8 years related mechanical experience
- Extensive experience in rotating equipment repair and installation (including power transmission, bearings, precision measurement, and precision shaft alignment)
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand equipment manuals and assembly drawings
- Rigging and general welding (Mig, Tic, Arc) experience
- Effective verbal and written communications with all levels of the organization
- Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 50 pounds without mechanical assistance
- Ability to use hand tools above shoulders, under ergonomically stressful conditions, and under application of heavy force by employee
- Ability to work in elevated positions with hand tools and fall restraint equipment
- Ability to wear personnel protective equipment (PPE)
- Must be able to pass pulmonary test that is required prior to wearing breathing air mask
- Ability to perform work in confined spaces while wearing breathing PPE
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders (fixed/portable) with tools when safe to do so
- Ability to work from heights, and in cold and hot environments
- Climb a vertical ladder up to 15ft
- Climb several flights of stairs, several times a shift
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Bending and twisting motion at the waist and knees
- Ability to work a rotating shift schedule with flexibility to work alternate schedules as needed
