Senior Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Perform scheduled and non-scheduled preventive maintenance, responding to dispatched general maintenance calls and troubleshooting secondary utility systems for buildings, plumbing, air-conditioning, electrical, and air systems. Maintain, repair, and inspect specialized machinery and equipment in accordance with code and regulatory requirements while recommending improvements to facilities that meet patient care needs. Coordinate functions with other services and departments, train colleagues on various skills, and provide leadership to the team. Requires a high school diploma, advanced knowledge of specialized areas including electrical and plumbing systems, ability to interpret complex schematics, and minimum five years of relevant experience. Located at Bloomington Hospital with a Monday-Friday schedule from 11:30pm to 7:30am.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Indiana driver's license with proof of insurance
- Advanced knowledge of specialized areas including electrical secondary systems, plumbing systems, fire system devices and air systems
- Ability to read and interpret information from complex blueprints, schematics and diagrams
- Extensive knowledge of applicable building codes related to healthcare
- Knowledge of various federal, state, local, OSHA, Life Safety and Joint Commission codes and regulations
- Advanced knowledge in the use of specialized tools
- Basic computer skills
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
