Job Summary
Senior Maintenance Technician at Fairfield in San Diego, responsible for diagnosing and repairing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, and appliances; supervising outside contractors; maintaining inventory; performing preventative maintenance and inspections; ensuring safety and compliance; coordinating move-ins/move-outs; responding to maintenance requests promptly and professionally; and supporting resident functions and property operations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- HVAC-EPA (Type II) or EPA Universal certification strongly preferred
- Associates hired without an EPA certification will be required to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license strongly preferred
- Associates hired without a CPO license will be required to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Valid driver’s license may be required
- 2+ years of experience in property maintenance or a related field
- Experience in supervising contractors preferred but not required
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliances
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements
- General computer skills including operating a mobile device
- Superior customer service skills including the ability to manage difficult customers and/or situations
- Ability to be on-call for after-hours emergencies
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays
