Job Summary
Operate and monitor utilities equipment including boilers, chillers, compressors, and cooling towers while troubleshooting process and equipment problems. Maintain facilities by assisting with maintenance needs, permit writing, general housekeeping, and forklift operation. Record, track, and analyze process data to ensure safe operation within permit limits, interpreting data to bring processes back under control. Actively seek continuous improvement opportunities and participate in safety cultures, including proper PPE use, work permits, and HAZOP reviews. Complete required formal training classes and support technical staff in training delivery.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- NJ Blue Seal Engineer's license
- appropriate water treatment and waste treatment license
- 1 to 4 years of experience in power and steam generation
- ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift
- ability to work weekends
- ability to work overtime
- ability to work holidays
- ability to cross train in primary craft
