Job Summary

Complete light maintenance, repair, and cleaning tasks in patient and resident care areas, exercising strict precautions to keep tools out of reach of children. Perform and oversee routine work quality inspections to ensure all orders follow acceptable engineering practices, while acting as a resource to staff and assisting with department operations. Evaluate building and equipment repairs independently, troubleshooting conditions using blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Manage installation and maintenance of mechanical systems, including boiler operations, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, alongside campus grounds maintenance. Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal codes while adhering to all corporate policies and dress codes.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced mechanical knowledge
  • Competence in the use of hand tools, meters, measuring devices and gauges
  • Ability to work from blueprints, schematics and technical manuals
  • Skills necessary to perform evaluations of all types of building and equipment repairs
  • Good written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to explain conditions and situations accurately while troubleshooting
  • Ability to work all shifts and hours as scheduled
  • Working knowledge of local, state and federal codes, specifications, and ordinances
  • Valid driver's license (depending on location)
  • Good driving record (depending on location)
