Job Summary
Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues. Perform preventive maintenance, visually inspect tools and equipment, and operate utility shut-offs. Maintain inventory, requisition parts, and communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts. Safely perform complex repairs on electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems, including boilers, pumps, and pool heaters, adhering to local and national codes. Conduct routine property inspections for safety hazards and equipment failures, taking immediate corrective action. Train and mentor junior engineers, supervise work in progress, and perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities. Use Lockout/Tagout systems before maintenance and display advanced troubleshooting skills for MEP systems.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- License or certification in refrigeration or electrical (earned, or currently working towards receiving)
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification
- Meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Certificate in two-year technical diploma program for HVAC/refrigeration
- Extensive experience and training in general maintenance (advanced repairs), electrical or refrigeration
- Exterior and interior surface preparation and painting
- At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience
- No supervisory experience
